Congratulations to our Freshman 4 Boy relay team, who placed third at the 2009 National Championships in Peoria, Illinois!

Members of the Hampton Roads Speed Team encourage and support one another, even outside of practices and skating meets, where many friendships are forged.  These pictures help to show some of the fun times skaters have shared together, both in and out of the rink!

Each year Hampton Roads skaters who qualify compete in the Inline Speed Skating National Championships. Eight skaters on the HR Speed Team qualified for the 2009 Championships. Our Freshman 4 Boy team even placed third at the championships!

Hampton Roads Speed Team members are encouraged to participate in competitions during the skating season. Not only do skaters race at the competitions, but skaters have the opportunity to make friends from states other than their own. Roller speed skating meets are very exciting events for both the spectators and the competitors!
